The Ron Lewis Automotive group planned on showcasing the new Alfa Romeo Giulia at the 2017 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.

The goal was to showcase a car that would stand out among all of the cars viewed by over 250,000 spectators.

304Dips, based in Morgantown, WV was selected as the company to perform the “dip” of the Giulia, providing a liquid wrap spray on coating over the exterior of the Giulia. The dipping process took a few days to complete and provides the “canvas” for this project. The liquid paint wrap is sprayed onto a car like paint, but can be peeled off by hand. It is safe, easily removable, and can last for a few years.

The first initial background colors were made by using Montana GOLD spray paint which is famous for its superior quality, high-covering and quick-drying NC-Acrylic lacquer. This entire process took less than 4 hours.

The concept of the car evolved around the speed and aerodynamics of the Alfa Romeo Giulia.

The Giulia was then transported to Market Square in Downtown Pittsburgh for the live painting.

Live painting began in Market square as part of the kickoff to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix weekend.

The other theme of the car was a tribute to Pittsburgh Art & Culture.

The live painting took a total of 2 hours using Sign Painter's 1-Shot enamel car paint.

The reason for the Andy Warhol portrait, was to commemorate Pittsburgh Art and Pop Art's beginnings in Pittsburgh in relation to Alfa Romeo's new beginnings in Pittsburgh.

Matthew Desantis, founder of Art & Exotics, arranged for this project to be the 2nd Art Car to be created in Pittsburgh. The 1st Art Car was done by Pittsburgh Artist, Baron Batch, in collaboration with Porsche.

The Art Car will take it's tour around Pittsburgh at various social events and museums for public viewing.
